Burna Boy, a Grammy Award winner from Nigeria, continues to break historical charts, this time on Boomplay.
Burna Boy, a Grammy Award winner from Nigeria, continues to defy history. This time, as the first African artist to reach 200 million streams on Boomplay, Africa’s leading music streaming platform.

Boomplay streams are calculated using industry-recognized standards, with no fewer than thirty-second streams equaling one stream count. Barely a year after becoming the first artist to reach the 100 million streams milestone on Boomplay, Burna Boy has gone on to double the feat, becoming the first artist to be streamed 200 million times on Africa’s #1 streaming service, Boomplay.
Since the release of the Outside album, which currently has 10 million streams, the Grammy Award winner’s popularity has skyrocketed. African Giant, his critically acclaimed and Grammy-nominated follow-up album, now has over 43 million streams, four times more than his previous body of work, indicating his expanding fanbase and growth. Twice As Tall, his 2020 album, has been streamed twice as much as African Giant, with over 80 million streams on Boomplay.
