“Mine” by DJ Remmy and Ola Vocals is one of those songs that grabs you gently at first, then pulls you in deeper with every beat. It’s a beautiful blend of modern electronic vibes and raw, soulful vocals the kind of track that feels just as good in your headphones on a late-night walk as it does on a dancefloor under soft lights.
“Mine” is a song centered around love and the desire to claim someone as your own. Produced by DJ Remmy & Femi Sounds, The artist’s smooth flow rides the beat with confidence, bringing emotion to the track. While the rhythm and structure follow a familiar pattern often heard in Afrobeat songs, especially from artists still carving out their unique sound, it doesn’t quite break new ground. That said, DJ Remmy’s production lifts the track to another level. The carefully layered synths, crisp drums, deep bass, and well-arranged vocals all come together to enhance the song’s appeal and polish.

The song eases in with an ambient intro that feels like a deep breath, calm, spacious, full of possibility. Then the bass kicks in, warm and steady, and layers of synth start weaving around it like threads in a rich tapestry. DJ Remmy clearly knows what he’s doing here, the production flows effortlessly, building momentum without ever losing its sense of intimacy.
And then Ola Vocals steps in. His voice is smooth and full of feeling, riding the beat with this quiet power. There’s a tenderness in how he delivers each line, like he’s not just singing to someone, but for them. The lyrics speak to love and longing in a way that’s relatable without being cliché, and when that chorus hits, it sticks. You’ll find yourself humming it without even realizing.
What’s special about “Mine” is that it never tries too hard. It’s intricate, sure, but never overproduced. There’s space to breathe. It’s the kind of song that grows on you with each listen — you notice a new texture, a subtle shift, a lyrical nuance you missed before.

In a sea of electronic music that often feels impersonal or formulaic, “Mine” stands out. It’s thoughtful. Honest. Human. If you’re into music that moves both your body and your heart, give this one a spin. It’s the kind of track that stays with you.
DJ Remmy, whose real name is Remigius Onyemesim, is also doing something special for the Bradford music scene. He’s the force behind the DJ Remmy Bootcamp, a free workshop series held at the Theatre in the Mill, University of Bradford, West Yorkshire. It’s notably the first DJ bootcamp of its kind in the city, a grassroots initiative with heart and purpose.
The bootcamp kicked off in June 2024 with a small but enthusiastic group. When it returned in January 2025, attendance had grown by 20 to 30 more people, a sign that word is spreading and interest is building.
What makes the bootcamp stand out isn’t its size, it’s the vibe. The sessions are hands-on, personal, and packed with real-world knowledge. DJ Remmy dives deep into the basics of DJing and music production, sharing tips he’s picked up from experience. He doesn’t just talk at the crowd, he gets them involved. From live mixing demos to one-on-one advice, the energy is interactive, supportive, and inspiring.

Despite being a modest gathering, the impact has been powerful. It’s a space where aspiring DJs can learn, connect, and grow, and it’s proof that you don’t need a massive stage to make a meaningful difference. DJ Remmy’s bootcamp is laying the foundation for something bigger: a stronger, more connected music community in Bradford.
DJ Remmy was also honored with the People’s Choice Award at the 2024 Bradford Music Awards.
